We had a prize for the best sweater... Bob took home a $10 gift card to Goodwill so he can try to out-do himself next year!!! He defiantly had the ugliest sweater.... you can't even see the tag on the back that says "Owl you need is love!"
Not only was Saturday night great because of our sweaters.... but it was Nate's last day in the Marine Corps. Yes he got out in 2008 but then he had to do 4 years (3 years 3 months because he joined in Jan 2004 but did not go to boot camp until Sept 2004 so that 8 months counted) Inactive Ready Reserves... meaning if something terrible happened (which with the way the world is these days would not have surprised me) he would have had to go back. However, God was with us and they didn't need him.... so now after four years active and two deployments... and four years Inactive Ready Reserves with (thank God!) no deployments... he is done. Don't ever tell him he's not a Marine anymore, because he is... but the Marine Corps no longer owns him, for the first time since we started dating almost eight years ago.. he's all mine! :)
