A Day For Birthdays

Yesterday we celebrated two very special Birthdays in our family! We threw a 50th surprise Birthday party for my father in law, Dave. AND we celebrated Banjo's first Birthday!

It was a cool but very sunny day and around 1:00 34 party guests showed up at our house to surprise Dave! We had the party catered by a local hot dog guy and Lauren, Deb and I made lots of yummy salads and cakes. I'm still not sure if Dave was REALLY surprised (I think he had some idea we were up to something the past few weeks) but either way I am sure he had a VERY good time! As did the rest of us!
Though I think Nate had more fun cleaning up today.. here he has set up a "sniper attack" on the balloons in the drive way.... boys.... Banjo also had a great day! He got his very own Birthday balloon so that our party guests would know it was someone's Birthday :) and his "cousin" Chester came over to play for the day. Banjo and Chester (who is just a few weeks older than he is) had a blast running around our dog pen and Banjo was sooo tired last night. We were going to bring him to Petco to pick out a toy, but he was exhausted and just as happy laying on the couch all night. Plus we enjoyed some time by our fire pit with friends.
Here are the Birthday Boys
...and we will be celebrating another Birthday soon... miss Abbie is on her way any day!!!! My sister and my niece to be :)

What a day! Dave REALLY was surprised (and still is)! He was pleased to see everyone. He actually thought that something was going to happen on Tuesday, not Saturday. So, thank you to Nate, Kas, Lauren, Jon and Sean for the work that you guys put in to make Daddy's birthday fun! AND...Happy Birthday to Banjo!
